Frequently asked questions.

How do I know my duck number?

Whether you adopt your duck online, at the Vail Farmers’ Market or online your adoption is recorded by volunteer Rotarians.

All entries are combined into one master list, and duck numbers are assigned on race day.

How will I know if I won?

Once the winning duck numbers are verified, we will match them with the adopter information in our records. A Rotarian will call the phone number or email provided on your adoption form.

If we cannot reach you by phone, we will send an email notification. Once we receive your mailing information, we will mail your prize.

How do I find out who all of the winners are?

The Duck Race Winners will be posted on our website, VailDuckRace.com, and published in the Vail Daily.

What happens to the ducks after the race?

Ducks are “adopted” rather than purchased because the Vail Edwards Rotary Club collects all of the ducks from Gore Creek after the race and stores them for future races. Reusing the ducks each year allows the Club to reduce costs and direct more funds toward the community and international projects we support.
